Common Places at Piper is a small church community that meets Sunday mornings inside the Piper Aviation Museum in Lock Haven.
We’re a group of ordinary people learning to trust Jesus, be transformed by him, and help others do the same. Some of us have followed Jesus for a long time. Others are still figuring out what they believe.
If you haven't been to church in years, have questions about Christianity, or simply want to see what we're about, you're welcome to join us.

What should I expect?
We're a smaller sized church on purpose.
That means you probably won't disappear into a crowd when you visit Piper. Our Sunday gatherings are relaxed and relational, with worship, prayer, Scripture, teaching, and time together as a church family.
You don't need to dress a certain way, know the songs, or understand everything we do before you arrive. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you're comfortable with while you're getting to know us.
Our hope isn't simply that people attend church. We want to become a community where people learn to trust Jesus in everyday life, experience his transforming work, and eventually help others do the same.
What about my kids?
Kids are an important part of our church family.
Children begin Sunday morning together with the rest of the congregation. After the opening portion of our gathering, preschool and elementary-age children are invited to our kids ministry for age-appropriate Bible teaching and activities.
Our goal is bigger than simply keeping children occupied while adults are in church. We want our kids to know Jesus, learn the story of Scripture, pray together, and experience church as a community where they are known and loved.
Our children's ministry volunteers serve in teams, and the adults working with children have the appropriate clearances.
Where do I go?
Yes, we really do meet in an aviation museum.
The Piper Aviation Museum has a large parking lot, including accessible parking spaces near the building. Enter through the main front doors of the museum.
From there, take either the stairs or the elevator to the third floor. We meet in the Community Room on the same floor as KBR Bingo. Look for Common Places signs along the way.

Why are you a small church?
We are not aspiring to be a mega-church. And that's ok.
Common Places is a family of small congregations. We believe something valuable happens when church is small enough for people to know one another, participate meaningfully, ask questions, develop as leaders, and share life together.
Rather than trying to gather everyone into one increasingly large Sunday service, our hope is to develop disciples and leaders who can help start additional healthy church communities.
Piper is one of those communities right here in Lock Haven.
What do you believe?
At the center of our church is Jesus.
We believe the Bible tells one unfolding story of God's work to rescue and restore his creation through Jesus Christ. We take Scripture seriously and work through both its encouraging and difficult passages together.
Our mission is simple:
Trust Jesus. Be transformed. Make disciples who start churches.
We understand a disciple as someone who is trusting Jesus in all of life, being transformed by him, and teaching others to do the same.
That shapes more than what happens on Sunday. As a church, we're learning practices such as Scripture, prayer, community, witness, generosity, and Sabbath as we follow Jesus together.
Common Places Church is part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance.
What if I'm not sure about church?
That's okay.
You don't have to pretend to have everything figured out before visiting Common Places. You can come with doubts, questions, church baggage, or very little experience with Christianity at all.
We believe Jesus is worth knowing, and we want Piper to be a community where people have room to explore what it means to trust and follow him.
You won't be expected to know when to stand, what to say, or how church works before you come.
Just come.
